Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It's already the start of a brand new school year and I can't wait to meet my new students! Pencils? Check. Paper? Check. Crayons? Check. The usual classroom essentials are stocked in my classroom. But before the first day of school, there are a few more things that we may need.

These resources may seem a little atypical as far as beginning of the school year supplies but they will be super helpful for my new students!

The red communication folders were game changers last year. They served as a daily opportunity for students to practice their organizational skills as they took important forms and papers home, returning them to school as needed. My third graders benefited from the routine the folders provided. I anticipate that the other two resources will be just as invaluable to my new class. The pop up tent will be a makeshift "recording studio" where they can record audio and video assignments. It can also serve as a calming place for students who need a separate space. Finally, the learning clock will be a great way for students to practice telling time during the day--it's an essential standard for third graders!
