My Project
Transitioning to middle school brings challenges both socially and academically. Many students experience an easier transition when the demands that are required have the resources needed embedded it them.
Particularly with math, many student experience a disconnect from elementary to middle school concepts and structure.
In particular various short cuts and mental math strategies that the used will no longer be effective when conceptual understanding must move from concrete to abstract and they are to apply algorithm to the problem-solving process.
As a result, I will utilize the "Expo Low odor Dry Erase Markers" to give the student the opportunity to problem-solve both on my whiteboard to demonstrate their work and strategies to the peers and their individual boards to show me. The low odor and chisel tip make them safe and efficient for students. Also, the X-actor pencil sharpener will provide a quality and durable sharpener to meet the demands and volume of pencils that will need sharpened since students are beginning to take notes and show all their work at this level of learning.
