Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a school where the students come from mostly a low economic background and many of them are immigrants that recently arrived in this country. These are kids who want to beat the odds but have so much stacked against them. This year I am teaching 50 fifth graders. Many of my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom.
My goal is to create a fun, inviting, and engaging classroom community for them to come to every day.
My Project
These items are things we will be using every day to be able to make learning effective and engaging! Expo markers and protective sleeves are used to individualize students needs, while toner and bright fun paper are meant to make the material more engaging for our visual learners.
Teaching is hard, especially in a pandemic, every small effort counts to making school and learning fun!
These tools will help us make the everyday tasks, more entertaining for our students! With everything happening in our world, keeping our students safe and EXCITED to come to school is definitely essential!
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
