My Students

My second-grade class is made of 28 amazing children. They range in diversity and ability. Some are Autistic, and many receive special education services. We are a Title I school, and all of my students are from low-income households, so they all receive free breakfast and lunch every day.

My students love learning, and they work very hard each day.

Their creativity inspires both me and each other. I am consistently humbled by their tenacious spirits, their loving hearts, and their curiosity about the world.

My Project

New, colorful decorations and inspirational posters will set a welcoming and inclusive tone right from the start. Our classroom does not have a clock, so I chose one that is both functional and educational (figuring out minutes is HARD in second grade!), and the rechargeable batteries will keep it going in an earth-friendly way. Power strips will make things SO much easier in our old building. We need basic things like facial tissue and disinfectant spray to keep us healthy. Our student and staff bathrooms rarely have soap in them, so a 12-pack will go a long way. And frankly, we just need the Febreeze in the bathrooms, too... It would be so nice if I had a comfortable chair to sit in, like the stability ball chair. Thank you for your consideration!
