This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from all 5 boroughs of New York City. Nearly all of them are coming from low-income homes where most likely a computer does not reside.
These kids, like all kids, deserve nothing but the best education possible and without technology in the classroom they have no way of truly advancing in the modern world.
Dedication to their own learning is something I see in all the students I teach so I can't help but dedicate myself to helping them get all of the tools necessary to have a successful education.
My Project
No matter how you slice it there are some supplies that no classroom can do without. Pens, pencils, paper, these things are required for students to succeed.
As we move into the second month of school, supplies are very scarce and funding even more so.
As a result I am looking to secure some classroom necessities for my 5 science classes. We use individual whiteboards often so dry erase markers are a must and for students to take notes pens and pencils are a no-brainer. And although I try to make my classroom as eco-friendly as possible it is impossible to get through a year without some copy paper. I have already provided all of my students with three-ring binders and so am looking to keep them organized which is why I'm requesting pre-punched paper.
