My Students
The students I get to work with in my classroom are amazing. They are learning and trying hard, however their potential could be vastly expanded with the addition of classroom math manipulatives and additional basic supplies. Having the materials to use with the students would enhance their learning and assist me to better teach them.
My Project
I teach multiple subjects and these items would help me as a newer teacher to have more resources to deepen the level of learning of my students. I also teach a club once a month that does craft painting. The write on coordinate plane boards with the dry erase markers would allow my kids to more easily plot points and gain a better understanding of distance and graphing on the coordinate plane and enhance our lessons. The angle viewer would allow a different perspective and more clear understanding of angles and how they work. The real world math games would allow my high achievers a additional resource that would challenge them and let them have fun at the same time.
The atom models would give my students hands on practice building atoms and molecules.
Having these actual hands on manipulatives would increase their awareness and understanding of how atoms and molecules are formed. The transfer of energy would also be brought to life with the use of the heat transfer demonstration kit, as well as the food chain learning center will enhance our environmental studies. Any time I can find better visual demonstrations for my students I strive to use them as it really adds to our class.
The folders, markers, pencils and compasses are additions that would help the basic function of our classroom.
All of our students are still suffering from the learning loss over the last year and a half with distance learning and masks in school. Any thing I can do to help enhance their education while they are in person, in a classroom, will have life long reach.
