My Project
My wonderful students are English language learners from different countries throughout our world. These students and their families are extremely hard-working and dedicated learners who appreciate the value of school.
* These translators will be used by the students during lessons to ask important questions that they would have not asked because of the language barrier.
This will help students better understand subject matter that would've confused them if taught in their non native language (English).
* A lot of my student's parents do not speak English which makes it difficult for them to understand how their child is doing. The English translaters will be used during parent teacher conferences as a means of communication to parents who don't speak english. This will help student parents understand what their child is doing and also clarify any specific needs.
* The translators will also be used to help explain to students important things such as fire drills and other emergency protocols. Students will have a clear understanding of what to do if there is an emergency.
* Last, the translators will be used among the children during partner work. A native English speaker can collaborate with a native non English speaker. This will help students become active members of a learning community through academic discourse and partner collaboration.
The English Learners students are a wonderul addition to our classoom. Because there are from different countries with so many different languages, it becomes challanging for them to learn english, and their other academic subjects.
In addition to learning the english language, having a translator will help all students understand the academic content better. This will lead to them making connections and better understanding of English and academic subjects.
