My Students

We are LEADERS: learners, examples to others, amazing helpers, determined to do the right thing, excited to grow respectful, responsible Raptors and successful all-star students! This is our class mission statement that my students created and recite every morning. Our mission statement represents who my students are. I teach 3rd grade and my students are 8-9 years old. They know who they are and what they want to become! They learn from their mistakes and work hard. I am amazed at how much they grow every single day! Third grade rocks!

My Project

Engagement is a measurement of how involved, enthusiastic and committed one is towards something. When students are engaged, they learn! I would love to create an environment that allows students to be engaged in their learning. I would use the books strengthen our classroom community. I would incorporate the games (buzzers, fly swatters, bean bag toss, the spinning wheel etc.) in my lessons and when we are reviewing concepts. I would use the microphone to let my students have a voice in classroom discussions, lessons and presentations. Each game or activity would serve a purpose in deepening the understanding and learning of each student. I know that my students would be THRILLED to have these activities in their everyday lessons. I know that they would be engaged and ready to learn.

As teachers, we have a responsibility to be creative and persistent when it comes to engaging our students in the classroom.

I know that by being creative and incorporating a variety of fun kinesthetic activities in my classroom, that my students will be engaged and excited about their learning.
