My Students

My students want to succeed in school and in life. I am a teacher in a high-poverty school where my students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Help me bridge the gap.

My students come from a low-income status, inner-city, and have special needs.

Their various disabilities include learning disabilities in reading and math, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), intellectual disabilities, and an autism spectrum disorder. I also have students that experience homelessness. I need to do all I can during school hours to help these students progress to well-developed, smart young men and women.

The majority of the students at the school come from low socioeconomic households. Students and parents do not have the financial means to provide essentials. Help me bring in the necessary materials to help my students succeed.

My Project

My students are in need of basic supplies to put into an emergency kit to get them through the school day. Often my students are in need of products and need to approach me for supplies. I will like to create an area in my classroom that has basic supplies for most in-class emergencies.

When our students know they don’t need to worry about basic supplies and have easy access to them, they are less stressed and can focus on the task at hand!

My students need feminine pads so they can be clean and fresh throughout the school day no matter what time of the month it is. They also need snacks like crackers, fruits snacks, and granola bars for in-class emergencies. I will have storage totes that will be used to house ready to go emergency packs/supplies. Please help me bring in the supplies needed for students to succeed.
