Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classroom, we have a system called classroom economy. The students have jobs; they get paid for their jobs. Then they have to pay rent with the money earned. They also have to pay any fines they receive for being off task or talking when not supposed to. Whatever money they have left they can shop in our classroom store.

Through this process, students are taught income, spending, saving, budgets, and expenditure.

This system teaches the students so many valuable lessons throughout the year and has proven to help in so many areas; math, social studies, and reading. The items needed are a drawer system to hold all the store items. Various items students will love to shop for like special pencils, pens, fidget toys, hair accessories, etc. With your help, my students will experience and make hands-on economic decisions.
