Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students earn dojo points like money in our classroom for completing their jobs, doing their work and demonstrating positive behavior. Students then get to shop at our classroom store twice a month where they can demonstrate their math skills while spending the money that they earned.
Each Dojo they earn represents $1.
Items in the store cost anywhere from $3 up to $100. Students will be gaining financial literacy skills as they learn to budget while saving or spending. It also encourages them to earn as much as they can and to be careful not to lose dojo points for breaking our classroom agreements. Keeping the store supply stocked and diverse is important to keep students motivated about our classroom economy.
