My Project

All children deserve the opportunity to discover and learn in a comfortable environment. My classroom consists of diverse students from many different backgrounds. A lot of my students most enjoyable and comfortable environment is their classroom. My students are the sweetest and are eager to learn.

I teach 1st grade.

I strive to make the year we share the most enjoyable, comfortable and wonderful learning environment!

A classroom carpet is a place for both students and their teacher to meet and learn. I introduce concepts and practice previously learned material. We come to the carpet to hold our morning meetings. We say our end-of-the-day goodbyes on the carpet. We sit on the carpet to get lost in amazing stories during our read aloud time! The carpet is our thinking space, our place where we can wonder, make predictions and brainstorm new ideas. Students gather around something new and explore it as a classroom community. It is a place where everyone feels comfortable and welcome. During our day students know that something new and exciting is about to take place when they come to the carpet! The carpet is a cozy place inside the classroom that helps every student feel comfortable while fostering a love for learning and creativity.

No one wanted to sit on the cold, hard tile. Students will have the chance to get out from behind their desks and spread out to work together!
