My students are like my second family. Once they enter my life as a student they are my student forever. My students come from all types of ethnic and economic backgrounds, and their diversity is what makes our classroom special.
In our classroom, we celebrate our differences and support each other like a family because for some of my students their classroom family is the only one they have.
It is amazing to see young minds support one another in such a positive way.
My Project
I would love for these items to help support our love of learning through the books, library furniture, small group tables, and supplies needed in order to continue that passion.
The books like, Last Dinner On the Titanic: Menus and Recipes from the Great Liner and The Titanic Expeditions: Diving to the Queen of the Deep: 1985–2010, would be used in an amazingly engaging two week unit on the Titanic that I do with the students.
This is one of the highlights of the school year for them. We take learning to a whole new level for two full weeks, focusing on fiction and nonfiction texts about the Titanic. These lessons will help students deepen their learning and understand of text features and text structure.
The seating furniture, Flex-Space Comfy Couch and Berries Prism Kidney Activity Table, will be used in our amazing classroom library so that students can be focused and prolong their independent reading stamina to better prepare them for testing.
The kidney tables will be used for small group work and guided reading that is needed to support struggling learners. These tables will allow me to be in close proximity to students and give them the individual supports that they need.
The dry erase sheets will be used throughout the classroom for a variety of reasons.
