This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating is the "new." Traditional seating can be uncomfortable and unproductive for student learning and engagement. I want to build a culturally responsive learning environment where my students feel safe and comfortable to learn. The first step for my classroom is to provide my students with different options for flexible seating.

Ultimately the goal is for my students to build a classroom with the 4 C's: Comfort, Communication, Community, and Collaboration.

I want my students to have a comfortable learning environment where they can collaboration through communication to build a community. My students deserve space where they feel they can focus on learning, rather than being uncomfortable in the desk they currently have. As for communication and collaboration, my classroom has a desk for small group instruction. Unfortunately, my classroom does not have enough seating. The stools, bean bag, and bounce chair will provide my students with seating to further progress the success of our small group instruction area. Through all of this, I hope to build a comfortable classroom community!
