My Project

I work in a self contained classroom with many sensory needs. Each student enjoys different things so I chose a variety of options. The toys I am requesting will help keep my students busy and learning even when I am not directly working with them on a specific academic skill. They can learn how to play independently in a center with the manipulative toys. With the sensory toys it will help calm and soothe them when they are over stimulated. When a student feels calm and safe I believe they can then do their best learning!

My goals are to help replenish my room with new and exciting center options.

Our center boxes now are old and well used. I would also like to get a few things for my sensory/calming corner. The center items I have chosen I think will help my students be able to use their minds academically and some will help them use their imaginations such as the magnetic shape blocks.

Working in a self contained room I get to see all the growth my students make. They are so special to me because they try so hard to achieve all their goals and they are so loving. My paras, my students, and myself are like a family in my room and we all want the best for the students.
