This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our current classroom carpet is over 15 years old! It has been used faithfully every single day, but it is time for a new carpet. For first grade students, a classroom carpet with designated spaces can serve as a very powerful class management tool. A specialized carpet supports learning by providing each student with their own space. By having a designated space, students know where to go immediately and are ready to learn. Less instructional time is wasted. A classroom carpet also facilitates collaborative conversations with partners and small groups. Please help our class!
