2nd grade is a critical year for building community and developing social skills. One of the best ways to foster this community and social development is through time spent together on our classroom carpet. We use the classroom carpet for reading stories, sharing news with each other, dancing, learning, and so much more. I am requesting a large classroom carpet so that each student will have their own specific place to sit and be a part of our classroom community. A classroom carpet will truly provide opportunities to bring our students together more and foster those much needed social skills.
