Classroom Carpet

My students need this large classroom carpet to enable them to sit together each day for morning meetings and for lesson collaboration. This would give them a comfortable, warm place to sit each day.

My Students

The students in my class come from diverse backgrounds and cultures and often do not have the support or technology available at home that allows them to succeed at higher levels.

My class is unique because half of them are from the homeless shelter and the rest live in low-income housing.

Teaching this population is very difficult, yet very rewarding. Most of my students come to school hungry and/or not prepared. I enjoy managing what I am able to in the classroom and being a stable role model in their lives.

My Project

I will use this rug every single day over 5 times a day. This carpet will make a huge impact by allowing space for all my students. I would love to be able to give each student a space on the carpet so that they can stay in that spot and also be able to participate in the lessons that we teach without being in other students’ space.

A large rug will allow us to sit together as a classroom family to collaborate and share ideas each day.

My students sit on the cold floor right now. This carpet will give them a comfortable, warm place to sit, talk, and learn from each other each day. It will be a great gathering place for our classroom meetings each morning, whole group lessons, and collaborative work.
