My Students
I have a class of diverse learners with diverse needs. Some of my students are English language learners, some have learning disabilities, and some are gifted. One thing all my diverse learners have in common is that the students spend this year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they move forward in advanced grades.
Our school serves students in grades K-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment.
As a result, we are consistently one of the top-performing schools in our area. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in school and in life.
My Project
My young students will benefit so much from having carpets in our classroom. The carpets will be used multiple times each day for various classroom exchanges.
The larger carpet will be used for whole group learning and exploring.
We will begin our day on the carpet for calendar and morning messages as well as language arts. Then we will also use it for small group rotations during our workshop centers. The smaller carpet will be used for our classroom library. It will allow students to develop a love of reading and enhance their literacy by giving them a safe and comfortable place to read.
