Classroom Carpet for 2nd Grade!

Help me give my students a classroom rug to be utilized regularly during lessons, and other parts of the school day.

My Students

I am a second-grade teacher. I have a wonderful group of students. They are constantly impressing me with their hard-working attitudes, amazing work ethics, and overall positive outlooks on life. I am so proud to be their teacher. They deserve the best education possible.

I teach at a rural, Title I funded school in North Carolina.

Every child receives free breakfast and lunch. We are located near a large military base and, as a result, serve children of active duty and retired military. Our school serves students from many socioeconomic backgrounds including homeless students, who at times may live with family, friends, or other relatives.

Our students are bright and eager to learn new things. They are hard workers and strive to make their world a better place.

My Project

Our classroom is hoping to get a carpet to use on a daily basis in the classroom. The children would be called to the carpet for both whole and small groups, and even just to look at a book if they want to. Even in second grade, I still feel having students join together on the carpet instead of just sitting at their desks, makes a difference in the lesson. It would be very helpful to have a new carpet, if possible!

Because the children will be on the carpet every day, I want a carpet that is clean, inviting and something that I wouldn't feel bad for the children to be sitting on.

You should be able to feel proud of everything in the classroom. The classroom rug will be well used and loved. Thank you for helping my classroom! A classroom rug is a gift that will keep on giving, for many years to come. I know my second graders will greatly appreciate it!
