Classroom Bilingual Library

Help me give my students books for them to read in their first language and English as they continue to build their new English literacy skills.

My Project

Many of my students struggle with reading and reading comprehension in English. I hope to support their continued literacy development by bringing in books with multiple inputs to support their comprehension: English, their first language, and visuals. Not having taught exclusively ESL students in the past, my current classroom library is not accessible to them, as the majority of the books are not within their reading level.

Additionally, while technology is a great tool for supporting my students’ learning, electronic devices often become a distraction, so I would appreciate more resources that can help them remain focused without the temptation of distraction.
