My Project

The items I am requesting will help make a difference to student learning by providing the basic school supplies they need to be successful in the classroom. With so many recent challenges in education and our community (covid and the Lahaina fire) kids have enough to worry about and having supplies should not be a worry for them.

The goal for this project is simple - get kids the supplies they need so they can learn.

The break down looks like this: tape - the kids have an interactive notebook for science class. This requires a large amount of taping in handouts, work sheets, project and all things science related. The expo markers are to help with group and individual work. The classroom has dry erase boards on wheels to enhance teaching and learning These allow students to work collaboratively, increase engagement and interactivity with others. The pipe cleaners and glue sticks will be used in science class to create models of organelles. These supplies are provided to the students instead of them needing to purchase them. Batteries are for the classroom microphone and wall clock.

There really are so many words to describe why they students at Lahaina Intermediate are special. This year some of the best words to describe them are resilient, generous, compassionate and hardworking. Our community has been though a lot. Providing the students with basic supplies to help them success is a must!
