Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager and curious first graders who love every opportunity to learn. They greet each day with excitement and show such excitement for new experiences.

First-grade students are sponges for learning; this is a formative year learning foundational reading and math skills.

Watching them learn is one of my greatest joys! Every day, students listen to books intently, learn through games, learn social skills, and revel at new learning.

My Project

Our classroom is up and running! First graders have grown into our learning routines each day, and they have already learned so much this year!

This project is requesting a few specific items to support learning for the rest of the year.

I have requested bright paper to create flashcards for "sight words" that students learn. Having color-coded cardstock will ensure that materials stay organized for years to come. Small golf pencils and "theraputty" have been requested to support fine motor development. These materials will help students build the hand strength necessary to have a proper pencil grip. Last, I have requested laminating pouches to help ensure we can keep our materials for years to come.

By helping fund this project, you will be providing beneficial basic supplies that we will use for many years!
