My students come from a range of different backgrounds and have a variety of different experiences with school and learning. We have many migrant students who come to our school for a couple months at the beginning of the year, as well as a couple weeks at the end of the year, depending on the harvest season that year. They often enjoy coming to school to be around students from different cultures and living environments.
Students at my school come from three small farming communities, but we make up one of the largest school districts in the state when looking at the land area.
They often are on the school bus for up to an hour one way but still come with positive attitudes. Our poverty rate is at an all-time high. These amazing kids deserve so much more than they have.
My Project
With the recent status of our schools, the budget and funding is uncertain. Every year, I like to make colorful posters, student materials, and instructions. The students love a bright classroom and colored materials. However, without the funding, I will not be able to purchase the basics, such as paper, magnets, and laminating.
Your donation will not only supply some of these basic items, but make materials more colorful and fun.
In addition, all of these items can still be used with the kids if we continue distance learning next fall. Thank you for your generous donations!
