My third-grade classroom is a mix of unique individuals. They come from different backgrounds, have different interests, and have different life experiences. Several live in single-parent homes, some live with other relatives, and a third of them qualify for free/reduced lunch. Despite their differences, they all come together to collaborate, learn from one another, and create a class community.
The most important thing I can teach my students is to love learning, and these kids are well on their way.
They love hands-on activities, movement, and technology. They are most engaged when they are able to interact with their learning in some way.
My Project
We have come to that time of the year where we have starting running out of some important classroom basic. My class needs to restock on paper towels, tissues, dry erase markers, and dry erase erasers.
Our classroom is a very busy place.
We need paper towels to clean up messes from breakfast, snack, art projects, and science experiments. As we are reaching the end of cold and flu season and entering allergy season, my students need more tissues.
My students use mini whiteboards a lot throughout the week and most of our dry erase markers have dried up and had to be thrown out.
