Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the first grade? It's a great time to learn through play and experiences! My school recently became a STEM school. Students in our school come from all types of backgrounds, mainly Hispanic and African American.

My students have a love and passion for learning, they come to school every day charged up and ready to tackle new challenges.

I am amazed by the way they think outside the box to solve problems and by their energy!

The majority of the students at my school are English learners with Spanish being the primary language spoken at home. Over 85% of students also qualify for free lunch. We are a Title I school as well. None of these things hold us back, they just make us shine even brighter!

My Project

Lots of these items are basics that we go through fast. We are short on pencils this year, and I have quite a few students who chew on them without thinking, so we are using them up quickly!

The chart paper is great for anchor charts, I like to anchor what we are learning so it is available for students to reference later.

These are basic items, but they make the classroom run smoothly, these are things you don’t think about until you run out, then you realize what a pickle you are in!

Dry erase markers are the chalk of the 21st century. We use them everyday in every subject. It saves thousands of copies each year. We do use these up quickly though! This will replace what we have used thus far.

The stickers will be used as incentives, on our I Ready chart and for lessons that students have completed! Every kid loves stickers! 😀
