My students need a variety of general school supplies that we have a difficult time acquiring through school district funding. These items range from class sets of scissors and glue to markers and crayons.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work in a high poverty school where we have little to no funding for the supplies that my students need to be successful every day. I am looking for items to enrich my classroom climate and increase levels of engagement among my 6th grade classes. These may range from simple pencils and erasers to basic personal and hygiene supplies for my especially needy students. Your donations are much appreciated to promote a positive and productive learning environment for these special young minds!

My Project

In a high poverty school district, basic classroom supplies are often hard to come by. Requests for a classroom set of markers tend to go unnoticed next to more pressing needs such as filling empty teacher positions or seeking help for a family in crisis. This tends to lead to teachers purchasing many of the supplies they need for their classrooms.

At this point in the school year, the general supplies that I purchased at the beginning of the year are almost entirely depleted.

Making learning engaging and fun for my 11-year-old students is very difficult with simple white paper and number two pencils. They thrive on creativity, color, and the opportunity for choice in their learning!
