Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a primarily immigrant and working-class neighborhood in Los Angeles. My students come from supportive families who are involved and concerned. Some of my students are above grade level, some are on grade level, and some are struggling readers. Even with all this diversity, my second graders have one thing in common: they all love learning!

Since my class will begin in August, I am requesting materials the students will need at the beginning of the school year.

I am requesting wide-ruled notebooks for my students to use for Language Arts and Math. We use notebooks daily in these two subject areas. The students also need multiple folders to keep their work organized.

I have also requested Clorox wipes to keep the classroom clean as well as Kleenex for my students. Student incentives have also been added such as squishy toys and fidget spinners to encourage my students to continue striving to be their best during this difficult time.
