This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Teaching middle school math can be very challenging, but it is also very rewarding. My students are AWESOME and like every other student, they absolutely need to stay engaged in their learning so they can continue to be successful in the classroom.
The basic classroom supplies requested in this project will help our classroom run smoothly during instruction!
Items such as the paper cutter and markers will allow the students and myself to spend more time in class working on math! I will use the paper cutter for math task cards prepared to explore and explain new instructional concepts in math. Project based learning has been introduced in my classroom and the binders and dividers are a necessity for PBLs. The 3 ring binders and dividers will help students who are working on their group project based learning activity, add their portion of the project to the binder and have all the items together. The plastic pocket protectors will allow students to fill out worksheets, or practice math tasks multiple times with minimal printing. In addition to the above necessities, storage is always an issue in my classroom. The over the door storage compartments will be used on my closet door to store manipulatives and supplies and the separate baskets will serve as holding boxes for the dry erase boards I already have in my classroom.
