Classical Classroom Accessories

My Project

Who says learning has to be dull? With your help, I plan to bring Latin and Ancient Greek to life with my students by allowing them to transport themselves back in time, at least in their accessories.

Gold laurel wreaths, Zeus' lightning bolt, and Poseidon's trident are all standard props for our classics classroom, but what about the tiaras?

When I teach the Latin subjunctive, I use this mnemonic device: she wears a diamond tiara. The vowels in the words represent the vowels of the present subjunctive. When I teach the subjunctive this year, I shall distribute tiaras! There will be selfies and self-confidence.
