This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am in need of all of these books as I enter my second year of teaching. I teach Spanish in a dual language preschool. As a new teacher I have very limited resources. I constantly have to borrow Spanish books because I have very little of them or translate English stories as I read. In a classroom that is meant to explore the Spanish language my students need books in Spanish!
My students would absolutely enjoy listening to the classics like Eric Carle, Leo Lionni, Laura Numeroff, and more in Spanish!
Having all these books in Spanish will truly enhance the effectiveness of my read aloud. I will have books throughout the year for different seasons, holidays, themes, and interests in my class to read in Spanish. I co-teach with an English teacher and now I have the chance to read the books she reads in English in Spanish for reinforcement. Reading is FUNDAMENTAL and having books in my class to match the interest of my students is essential for spreading the love for books. Thank you in advance!
