Classic Literature Through Graphic Novels

My Project

My students love to read, however they are learning to read, write, and speak English at the same time as learning their grade curriculum for ELA. I have found that providing students with the graphic novels encourage students to be more participatory in our class discussions regarding classic literature novels. We read these graphic novels first and then enjoy the novels in their entirety. The classic literature graphic novels give students more reading time, understanding and enthusiasm about our curriculum topics which provides for a more enjoyable and educational experience.
