My Project

I'm looking to provide Special Education students with specific learning disabilities an opportunity to read books that are accessible, yet encourages Lexile growth and critical thinking skills. Many of my students come from the poorer end of a wealthy community and don't have supports that encourage reading or much education. Some suffer from dyslexia, and have a desire to read, but need support with the material.

These books provide special needs students with levels and topics that they're able to comprehend.

I have many deep thinkers in my classes. Through choral reading, they've been able to follow along with the material. With follow up discussions about the reading, they will experience the reading that their peers do.
