Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
Our students are always eager and ready to learn for the day.
One hundred percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our students come from a variety of different backgrounds, experiences, and opportunities. Our diversity allows us to have a wide array of experiences which can be drawn upon by creating an engaging classroom environment where all students are able to focus and thrive. Student success is our number one priority.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. In the upcoming months my students will be learning about trickster tales and elements of a trickster tale. I'm requesting a class set of "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" and "A Letter to Peter Rabbit." The classic tale of "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" will help students identify a trickster in the story based on their knowledge of elements of a trickster tale. They will be able to form their own opinion if "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" is a trickster tale or not.
By donating these books to our students, you will be helping and enabling them to identify elements of a trickster character, identify character traits using the text, and use context clues to help determine unknown vocabulary words and their meanings.
"A Letter to Peter Rabbit" will help students who are struggling with letter writing by reading a story that has various letter from different fairy tale characters like the Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. Students will practice writing their own letter to Peter Rabbit as well.
