My Students

About 95% of our students are African American and about 5% Hispanic. All of our students receive free lunch. The majority of the students live below the federal poverty line, but that doesn't stop them from dreaming and working. They know, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" Nelson Mandela.

Welcome to our class! We use STEM practices to develop our conceptual knowledge of math and science concepts.

My Project

We need notebooks and storage bins to organize their materials. Having a colored coordinated class brings synergy in our room. I am asking for bright color storage bins for students to use to organize their bright color notebooks. I'm also asking for matching desk caddies to help keep their pencils, markers, and lap boards easily accessible at their tables. Artificial flowers are in the cart to bring a touch of home and outdoors inside our learning environment. Decorative flowers adds color and visual stimulation to our classroom.

My goal is to create a comfortable workspace that will attract student to school.

Our school is located in a deprived community that is not physically appealing. Giving them an environment that is surrounded with vibrant color and an organized class system will increase their desire to attend school while exposing them to a different surrounding.
