I am preparing for another great year of learning!
As I anticipate the end of this year, summer, and beginning of the 24-25 year, I decided to go ahead and put in a request for the things I wish I had at the beginning of THIS year, such as, markers, headphones, pencils and highlighters.
For example, we use online learning programs, but headphones aren't provided. Getting those donated is a huge help! Also I love to use color in our learning, and the kids do too! So highlighters are a fun way to do that. For example, students benefit from this resource when hitting the ELA standard of asking/answering questions because I can have them look for specific parts of a text, such as, "mark the characters in pink, mark the setting in blue." Or, when working on grammar, "mark the subject in yellow and the predicate in green." Or, when working on spelling and phonic standards, "mark words with silent E in yellow." etc. etc. This helps to the students to be engaged with their learning and helps them to see how words have different jobs.
Similarly, there is a specific need which each item provides for our class. I was careful not to request things which might not be used.
