Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My new group of students will be starting the year soon and I am so excited to meet them. We are a PBIS school and I have a classroom money system in my classroom to incentivize positive behavior. Students work hard to earn classroom money. They also earn money from their class jobs weekly. Students do have to pay money to replace lost or mistreated supplies. I have found the class money system is very effective as students are motivated to buy items they like.

One of the most popular items students enjoy are desk pets and accessories.

My students tend to get really into creating areas for their desk pets and one of their favorite free time activities is playing with their desk pets. It is so wonderful to see my students use their imagination and creative play. This project restocks my classroom store with a variety of desk pet incentives. There are also fidgets which tend to be another popular item. Finally, I have included kleenex because students can never have too much tissues in our classroom.
