This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have grown up in an inner city. Many of these children face poverty, violence, and the obscenities of life on a daily basis that are well beyond what most of us could imagine. They are always looking to learn new things and explore different subjects more in depth. They come to school hungry for knowledge, trying to do their best to learn, as I try to do my best to give them a good education and an introduction to the American way of life.
My school has limited resources; I am looking to supply the fifth grade with markers for their projects.
I have books that will keep my students' minds moving and active, but giving them markers and pencils will help as they use resources to create in everything they do in the classroom or at home, which gives them motivation to explore. This will be able to keep students engaged in reading, writing, and mathematics at all levels and topics.
The best thing is that my students really love drawing and would develop amazing graphics and projects for their research papers. My students need to continue being challenged, to increase their reading stamina, but most of all, as they increase their stamina, they will continue reaching for higher-level books, so let's continue to push our future leaders!
