My Project
This set of headphones will help my students access differentiated learning! I will be teaching in a 2nd and 3rd grade split classroom which means my students will need lessons that are extremely tailored to their individual learning needs. Though this can be challenging, technology can be used to help teachers and students access more individualized learning.
Students will use the headphones to access educational platforms along with teacher-created screencasts to ensure they are receiving the right support for their learning.
For example, a teacher will be able to work with a small group of students while another group of students is simultaneously watching a screencast of a separate lesson the teacher created (a great way to be in two places at once)! This will be imperative when teaching students both 2nd and 3rd grade curriculums. Unfortunately, student headphones can break when used regularly, so I included a pack that will have some backup pairs to get us through the whole school year! The shoe organizer will be used to ensure headphones are well maintained and organized.
My school is a Title I school, and around 70% of our student population qualifies for free and reduced-rate school lunches. I want our students to know that they deserve high-quality educational materials just like their peers at non-Title I schools.
