We have over 200 dance students and it grows each year. Our dancers are eager to learn and become the best dancers they can. Our high school has a diverse population of over 3000 students, our dance students typically choose to stay in the dance program for all four years of their high school career.
This year our program has two full-time dance teachers, each teaching six dance classes.
We also have an after-school dance company and a National Honor Society of Dance Arts that meets twice a month during lunch.
My Project
This class set of costumes will increase the professionalism of our productions. Some of our classes have twenty or more students, and it can be very difficult to have enough costumes that not only match, but also fit each student. A basic white dress like these can come in handy in multiple performances to come, and having twenty or more on hand gives us the opportunity to costume a class.
Our dance program will be able to reuse these costumes for future performances.
We currently have a costume closet, but since our program materials come from fundraisers and ticket sales, we typically can only afford to buy one or two class sets of costumes per year. Our school has twelve dance classes in a school year, and two performances per school year.
