Summerville High School boasts two dance studios and each year we teach over 200 students the art of dance. Through donors choose and fundraisers we have been able to give our students opportunities we otherwise would not be able to afford as our program is run solely on the support of donations and fundraisers. Each year we put on two school performances, as well as attend various community events such as the Coastal Carolina Fair and local dance competitions. Our students come into the classroom at various levels, but they all put in hard work and dedication. Many of our students remain in dance all four years of high school which helps us form strong bonds and relationships that curate success for each student. The arts community in our area is growing, but many of our students have not been to professional performances or take arts classes outside of the public school platform.
