My Project

Using calculators similar to those permitted on the AP chemistry exam is crucial for students' preparation. These calculators not only familiarize students with the tools they'll use during the assessment, but also reinforce essential mathematical principles, such as PEMDAS (parentheses, exponents, multiplication and division, addition and subtraction). A significant benefit is their ability to display algebraic setups, which is especially valuable for students who struggle with algebra. By visualizing the proper setup and step-by-step process, students can better understand and internalize the mathematical reasoning behind their calculations. This practice not only enhances their problem-solving skills in chemistry, but also builds a stronger foundation in algebra, helping them to develop the confidence and competence needed for both the exam and future STEM-related endeavors.
