it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My seniors had worked so hard to build a strong educational foundation for four years and are looking forward to starting a new journey as college students. I wish I could move mountains and have superpowers to just make their last weeks as high school seniors super special. I want them to know how proud I am of them and how privileged I feel to have been part of their lives. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic Prom, Grad Night, Graduation Ceremony had been postponed, but not my seniors' drive to succeed in their education.
Our Class of 2020 deserves to be recognized and celebrated for their resiliency, courage, and academic accomplishments!
My seniors' strength is admirable as they continue doing their classwork assignments, taking their AP tests, and supporting their families at home. They are facing tough times but are staying positive and looking forward to their future as college students.
My Project
My graduating seniors will get a head start by receiving a backpack with school materials from Staples. Each backpack will contain items such as a notebook, pens, pencils, highlighters, post-it notes, and index cards to use in their first year of college. The school materials will ease the economic hardship many of my students' families have at the moment.
The graduating seniors will be grateful for your kindness and inspired for supporting their education!
The backpacks will be a reminder that there are people who care and believe in them. This backpack will bring a smile to my seniors!
