Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As part of my Youth Entrepreneurs class, students earn currency for showcasing the core pillars of the course (ranging from Responsibility and Opportunity to Knowledge and Win-Win Focus). Students are encouraged to save up that currency for activities within the class. However, they also have an opportunity to spend currency on a daily basis to purchase something from the class market.

This project will stock the class market so students can weigh their own economic decisions in terms of saving or spending.

As Seniors, many of them already know what it means to earn money and budget. This project will extend that experience within the classroom with tangible examples.

Although the ultimate goal is to teach students about budgeting and economic choices, if students do not have currency but express a need, these supplies can ensure there is something in the classroom they have access to on a daily basis.
