My Students
Every day is a new day. I teach 20 students that have various personalities that are learning to become a student for the first time in their lives. Because of the Pandemic, many have never been a part of a social program. They are learning what it means to take care of themselves and others outside of their household. This can be both scary and exciting at the same time.
When we began the year, we were strangers to one another in a scary time of life.
It is now the mid-year and our students have truly become a class family. The students love being with one another and even fight like siblings. We have been able to work through problems with positive outcomes. It is important that the students find their own voice and become self aware of how their actions effects others. It is also important that they know it is okay to have different opinions from others and value others way of thinking.
When the school year began, the students also struggled with fine motor skills. Through play, we will build both their fine motor muscles and strong emotional bonds with their classmates.
My Project
Who can remember their first friends? It was probably in play. That is what these materials will help build with my class family. They will be able to use any of these materials to build the bonds to help them succeed at life. It will give them chances to use their imagination while also building on their fine motor skills.
Playing is how our young children stay engaged to build the much needed muscles they need for later in life.
NO student wants to sit around doing worksheets. They want to interact with something. This something can be another person or a toy.
I want the best for my kids aka students. I love when they work together to solve problems or make something together. The joy they have is my joy. A chance to play and learn from each other sets them up for a very successful life. Once they are a part of our class family they will always be family.
