My Students

My middle school hybrid classroom is a place of growth and learning. A high percentage of my students are learning English as a second language and benefit greatly from visual aids and hands-on activities.

The students in my Title I classroom are middle school students in a rural Utah town.

These students are excited to learn and find joy in the challenge that the learning process can bring. This school year we are focusing on future goals in education and maximizing the potential of each child to achieve great things as they progress through life.

My Project

Since the affects of Covid-19 has impacted students everywhere, there have been countless changes. Many students, particularly the most vulnerable to illness, have been switched to learning remotely from home until it is safe. In the meantime, these students still need opportunities to interact with peers and continue their social-emotional development. Each week, I hold a class connection session with my remote learning students to give them this opportunity. These meetings have become very important to my students who miss interacting with peers and creating emotional connections.

These books and stories will encourage thoughtful discussion and generate excitement for our weekly meetings by offering the best prize of all: a great story and friends to share it with!
