Class Books for Pre K Rockstars

My students need a printer and digital camera to make exciting class books. This will encourage their love of books and will help with early literacy skills.

My Students

I have an Pre-K inclusion at-risk classroom with 4 identified special needs students. This classroom is located in the Appalachian mountains.

These children and their families struggle to meet basic needs.

This Pre K classroom helps bridge a gap in preparing students to be successful in Kindergarten.

These students enjoy coming to school and engaging in exciting learning activities. With the addition of new class books, the children and their families will learn early literacy skills and learn the love of books.

My Project

I will be able to make class books by taking digital pictures with the camera and then print out the pictures with the printer and share these books with our children and their families. We made a "Beginning of School" class book and this book is always a favorite in our library center. Class books will encourage concept of word, tracking left to right, and correct movement from front to back with a book. I want to make books like "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" using the children's names "Sara, Sara, who do see?". Children at the age 4 love to see themselves and friends in various class books that can be made throughout our school year.
