This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Today, it seems like every child in kindergarten has toys to play with and the teachers know how to use toys to teach about Civil Rights and Multiculturalism. Unfortunately, my students do not have this opportunity. They will not have the experience to learn by playing and important topics.
My 29 students come from a lower socio-economic demographic, and many do not speak English at home.
Most of the students qualify for a free lunch, have limited resources at home, and stay at school until the early evening because of their hard working parents who are trying to make it.
Our school does its best to inspire the kids and bring the curriculum to life. But the challenges of limited budgets and language barriers make that mission difficult.
My Project
By using the toys: An 8-Piece Hispanic Family, Community Play Carpet, Kids Around the World, Community Garages, Classroom Bins - Set of 4, Dollhouse Furniture, Treehouse, , Rolling Marketplace and 5 Basket , Dollhouse, Baby Dolls, Families - Complete Set, and others toys my students can have fun learning the key concepts about Civil Rights and Multiculturalism and, skills in the K4 curriculum about . They come to the school with enthusiasm and happiness because they know they are going to have fun and experiment with new things and ideas. As a result, my students will have new motivation and inspiration to achieve excellence in their academic career and beyond. They will expand their horizons and explore new ideas that will form the base for future learning and experimentation in the upper grades.
Please, this financial support will change 29 lives by offering a different way of learning.
It will provide resources for tools to develop knowledge and skills that they might not otherwise acquire through traditional teaching styles. These toys will inspire them to explore places and things they never would have before. The dolls will expand their world by connecting them with places and things they have not seen and grow their curiosity to learn more about Civil Rights and Multiculturalism.
