Help me give my students black lights and glow in the dark supplies for a rewarding citizenship experience. Students work very hard through out the year and look forward to the end of the quarter celebration.
My students are a part of a middle school of 6th through 8th graders. The student population is both socioeconomically diverse, but also very ethnically diverse. Our school has over 40 different countries represented and many different languages. No matter their differences, the students still respect one another and make an effort to be kind.
Our students' energy is contagious and their hard work is inspiring.
The students genuinely appreciate every little detail about their learning experience that is given to them. Whether it is a pizza party, a creative activity, or just a simple joke or smile about their day I can see how much it affects their overall attitude towards learning. Each day they come in with smiles on their faces as a I great them at the door with so much energy and they work the entire time.
My Project
Students may forget what a teacher says, but they will not forget how their school experience makes them feel. We want our students to feel appreciated, accepted, and have a sense of belonging.
This project will provide students with a positive experience from middle school to remember for a lifetime.
Students work towards earning their citizenship each grading period. At Plaza students achieve SUCCESS by:

Putting forth our best EFFORT and
Showing RESPECT to ourselves and others
At the end of each grading period those that have demonstrated our school's core values are then rewarded with an event. The black lights will create an experience that our students will look back on to remember.
