Circuits, Widgets & Robots: Encouraging the Next Generation of Inventors
My students need a space in my room to exercise their creativity in technology and engineering gifts. I am creating a 'Marker Space' where my students can design robots, codes, and electronics.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a high needs, Title I school district in New York.
I have the pleasure and honor of working with 14 amazing fifth graders that have profound learning disabilities that center around vocabulary acquisition and reading.
Thus far, my students have viewed reading as an arduous task which has severely affected their self-confidence. My students need a comfortable welcoming location to read, work in pair-shares or in cooperative groups. I am totally committed in making every effort to creating an area which they will practice their reading, mapping and problem solving skills.
My Project
Like many of the most brilliant inventors, such as Thomas Edison, my students struggle in reading and writing. However, they excel in creating their own inventions whether it is their own building, bridge or robot. I am planning on creating a Marker Space where my students can design and build their own fabulous inventions.
The materials I have selected will whet their own innovative interests and elicit a stronger vocabulary in Science, Technology, Engineering and even Mathematics.
When the students utilize the materials they will be expected to explain in both verbal and written form what they built, how they created it and how their creation will be used.
